Dietitian

Luis A. Rodriguez is a dietitian at the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital and a nutritionist at the WATCH (Weight Assessment for Teen and Child Health) clinic. In the WATCH clinic, Rodriguez provides nutrition counseling to overweight children, teenagers and their families. He also conducts the clinic's teaching breakfast program where he provides hands-on educational sessions on optimizing nutrition.

For the children's hospital he develops specialized medical nutrition therapy for complex pediatric patients with conditions such as cystic fibrosis, eating disorders, Crohn's disease, failure to thrive, dysphagia, liver and kidney failure.

Rodriguez earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nutritional sciences at the UC Berkeley, and completed a dietetic internship at UCSF Medical Center. He is a registered dietitian and a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
