Hospital services offered through the UCSF and ValleyCare collaboration include:

  • Hospitalists — Pediatric hospitalists, who are doctors from UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital specializing in the care of hospitalized children, are on the staff at ValleyCare Medical Center 24 hours daily. UCSF hospitalists work closely with ValleyCare doctors and other health care providers to care for babies and children.

  • Neonatologists for Intensive Care — Two UCSF neonatologists oversee the expanded 10-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at ValleyCare Medical Center. Working with ValleyCare staff, they provide around-the-clock attention to newborns who have complex conditions and require a higher level of care.

UCSF Prenatal Diagnostic Center

UCSF specialists in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Services offer the most advanced prenatal screening and testing available, including a first trimester test for birth defects such as Down syndrome. For some of the tests, we provide same-day results. If you'd like information about your baby's risk for birth defects or fetal disorders, our experienced genetic counselors can guide you through the options.
