Neurometabolic Clinic

The Neurometabolic Clinic provides comprehensive disease management, diagnostic evaluations, genetic counseling and education to children, adults and their families throughout Northern California and surrounding communities living with metabolic and neurological diseases. Patients have access to our broad range of specialists, many of them leaders in the fields of genetics, neurology and metabolic disorders.

We are also certified by the California Children's Services and California Genetic Disease Branch for diagnosing and caring for children with metabolic and neurologic diseases, including newborns.

What to Bring

  • Health insurance information including authorizations or referrals
  • List of your child's prescription medications and dosages
  • List of medications your child is allergic to
  • List of questions you may have
  • Recent test results related to your child's condition
  • Paper and pencil to take notes

What to Expect

    During your child's first visit, your child will meet with one of our experts who will conduct a thorough physical examination, inquire about symptoms and record your child’s medical history.

    Lab tests, such as blood tests, and imagining tests, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computerized tomography (CT) scans may also be conducted.
