Laboratory Medicine at Mount Zion performs diagnostic or lab tests for children being cared for in our hospital and clinics as well as for our scientific researchers. Your child's doctor may order certain tests to better understand your childs condition. These tests are performed in the areas of chemistry, hematology or blood, immunology, microbiology, molecular diagnostics, toxicology and transfusion medicine.

All of our laboratories perform more than a combined 4.2 million tests each year. Laboratories are state licensed, certified under the federal Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and accredited with distinction by the College of American Pathologists (CAP).
