HIV Women's Program

The HIV Women's Program was established under the direction of Dr. Ruth Greenblatt, an infectious disease specialist, to address the concern that HIV-positive women often neglect their own medical needs when caring for dependents. The program is designed to provide expert, culturally sensitive care for HIV-infected women as well as their children, who may be HIV positive or negative. Services offered include:

  • Health care for mothers and their children
  • Opportunities to enroll in clinical trials
  • Access to extensive social, legal and housing services

The team is made up of providers with expertise in infectious disease, obstetrics, gynecology and pediatrics. Developmental psychologists and psychotherapists, nutritionists, pharmacists and social workers also are members of the team. Volunteer lawyers provide legal advice on issues such as worker's rights, guardianship and estate planning.
