Disorders of Sexual Development Clinic treats a range of conditions that lead to atypical development of the genitals and other sexual characteristics. They can be caused by abnormalities in the chromosomes, in the development of the ovaries or testes, or in the activity or production of hormones.
Infants and children with disorders of sexual development (DSD) are provided a comprehensive program that includes collaborative medical, social and psychological care. UCSF's Disorders of Sexual Development Clinic is devoted to providing that care. Our team includes experts in pediatric urology, pediatric endocrinology, reproductive endocrinology, genetics, child psychology, social work and nursing.
The entire team meets with individual families on the third Tuesday of the month to provide management plans for each child's medical and psychological needs. We can discuss the diagnosis and management, and answer questions and concerns about genital surgery. See information about our support group for parents.
To make an appointment, please call the number below for any necessary forms and have your child's pediatrician or specialist fax the forms back to us.
