Child & Adolescent Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic

The Child and Adolescent Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic provides consultation, evaluation and treatment to children and teens with emotional, psychological and cognitive problems other than autism spectrum disorders, hyperactivity/ADHD, Tourette's syndrome and tics. The latter conditions are treated at the specialty clinics of the Children's Center at Langley Porter.

Typically, each child receives an initial assessment to clarify what's causing the problems and potential interventions to improve the quality of life for both the child and the family. We offer brief and long-term individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy and family psychotherapy. We also offer ongoing medication management when appropriate.

In addition, we provide training that teaches parents new ways of addressing their child's behavioral problems.
