Autism NeuroGenetic Clinic
We've Moved!

The UCSF Autism NeuroGenetic Clinic is a collaboration between the divisions of Child Neurology and Pediatric Genetics. The clinic allows parents and kids to see both specialties in one coordinated visit. Dr. Marco, a cognitive and behavioral child neurologist, leads the neurologic assessment, and Dr. Wynshaw Boris, the chief of Medical Genetics, provides an in-depth investigation of metabolic and genetic causes of neurodevelopmental delay and autism.

You'll need a referral from your child's pediatrician or specialist to make an appointment. Once you have the referral, please call the number below.

What to Expect

Each patient will undergo a formal neurologic and genetic assessment that takes about 2 hours total. The purpose of these evaluations is to determine the cause or causes of your child's symptoms and to recommend treatment. In some cases, a diagnosis will be deferred until more information, such as blood tests or brain imaging, is collected. A written report is sent to the primary care physician and/or referring physician.
