Theodore P. Nicolaides, M.D.

Pediatric neurologic cancer specialist

Dr. Theodore Nicolaides is a pediatric neuro-oncologist who treats children with brain tumors, such as malignant gliomas, in the Cancer and Blood Disease Program at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. In addition to treating patients, he conducts research on new therapies and participates in clinical trials conducted by the Children's Oncology Group and Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium. He speaks fluent Greek.

Nicolaides earned a medical degree at the New York University School of Medicine in New York City and completed a residency in pediatrics at New York University Medical Center and a fellowship in pediatric hematology-oncology at UCSF. He is a member of the Society of Neuro-Oncology and American Association of Cancer Research, which awarded him its Pediatric Cancer Career Development Award. Nicolaides is an adjunct assistant instructor in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the UCSF School of Medicine.
