Sonia Bonifacio, M.D.

Neonatologist

Dr. Sonia L. Bonifacio is a neonatologist, specializing in the treatment of critically ill newborns and premature infants. Her research interests are focused on the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in newborns with brain injury and in the development of neonatal neurocritical care.

Bonifacio earned a medical degree at UCSF in 2003. She completed a residency in pediatrics in 2006 and a fellowship in neonatology in 2009, both at UCSF. She has co-authored a number of articles related to neonatology and is an assistant adjunct professor of pediatrics at UCSF.
