Director of the Center for Craniofacial Anomalies
Dr. Karin Vargervik is director of the UCSF Center for Craniofacial Anomalies. She is an orthodontist with special interest and expertise in growth as well as the treatment of children with cleft lip and palate and other craniofacial anomalies.
She completed dental training and specialty training in orthodontics at the University of Oslo, Norway. Following a fellowship at the Forsyth Dental Center in Boston, Vargervik joined UCSF Medical Center and has been engaged in experimental and clinical research and patient care, primarily in the Craniofacial Clinic. She is widely recognized for her contributions to the management of craniofacial anomalies. In the UCSF School of Dentistry, Vargervik is the Larry L. Hillblom Professor in craniofacial anomalies.
