Pediatric surgery clinical coordinator
Barbara Bratton is the nurse practitioner for pediatric surgery at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, where she coordinates the care of children with surgically correctable birth defects. She works with the surgeons and families to provide care long-term to children.
She received her bachelor's degree in nursing at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo., and her master's degree in nursing, with a pediatric nurse practitioner certificate, at the UCSF School of Nursing. She is certified as a pediatric nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Association.
Bratton has held a variety of diverse pediatric nursing positions over the past 20 years including working as a critical care nurse in adult and neonatal intensive care units. She has held several positions including assistant nurse manager, nurse practitioner in the Intensive Care Nursery and the clinical coordinator for the ECMO Program (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation). She has 16 years experience as a nurse practitioner in pediatric surgery.
