Pediatric anesthesiologist
Dr. Atsuko Baba is a specialist in pediatric anesthesiology and medical director of the pediatric Prepare Clinic at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. Baba was instrumental in launching the Prepare program that helps children prepare for surgery and strives to make the experience as anxiety-free as possible. She joined UCSF in 2001 after extensive training in pediatric anesthesiology. She completed a fellowship and served on the staff of the Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC. She also worked at the Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore and has an interest in anesthesia for trauma.
